evening city lights meditation

July 2, 2006

The beginning of a blog

Went to cafechurch in Glebe. It was a beautiful night, with a meditation sequence set up on the top levels of the building. Started off reading psalm 34 in a huge old Bible on a rickety wooden stand in the landing. “Sweetness” meditation on the top floor; watching the city skyline while eating sweet black grapes: thinking on the sweetness of life. Next “bitterness” a taste of endive, musing on the inevitable harsh times. Then “thirst”, drinking water and seeking what we need to fulfill us in God. And finally, we all pause in the kitchen to write an encouraging note to someone we know. That was “church” for tonight, I am refreshed.
